Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique Rollerball Pen

Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique Rollerball Pen
Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique Rollerball Pen

When leaving a job 15 years ago, I was fortunate to receive a Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique Rollerball as a parting gift. I graciously thanked everyone for such a thoughtful present. I enjoyed using the pen and felt regal and important when signing checks and writing letters. With such an elegant pen I was prone to send more letters and cards to family & friends. I actually looked forward to Christmas when writing out my holiday cards. I had an excuse to sign my name and address envelopes multiple times with my fine writing instrument!

Fast forward to present day. I still have my Classique. It still writes as well and looks as good as the day I received it. I continue to get a kick out of scripting letters, keeping in the back of my mind that I am carrying on a tradition. A tradition for composing thoughts and sharing them. A tradition that encourages one to be creative.

MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK : THE MASTERPIECE

First of all, the name itself intrigued me- Meisterstuck. This persuasively sounds royal and classy. And when a brand like Montblanc has been affixed to this intriguing name, I couldn’t help myself but start a talk about how awesome and tempting this series of writing instrument is.
So, what makes Meisterstuck so irresistible? I’m sure a lot of alike-minded pen enthusiasts who have had an encounter with Montblanc M145P Meisterstuck Black Classique Platinum Plated Fountain Pen or Montblanc Meisterstuck Legrand Gold Plated Rollerball Pen or any other lucrative device from this category of fine pens can give you a satisfying answer. The reasons are the same as that which makes it one of the bestsellers at our pen shop.

Montblanc Meisterstuck Pens

Is it the slim shape, the lightweight, the simplicity, the exquisite nib or the dependability? Narrowing down to one aspect is quite tough a job. For the past century, Montblanc has been synonymous to the plush writing culture and has effortlessly maintained their time-honored craftsmanship and quality depicting themselves as the best pens for writing. Compare on the basis of materials, artistry and compliance, Montblanc Meisterstuck will come second to none. It possesses the power of touch; a touch from the experts from Mont blanc that has transferred in the timeless expertise, the soul of the masters.
Meisterstuck meaning Masterpiece in German; the name was conceived in 1924 and has been casting a spell ever since. With each passing year, the technology developed and the designs modified but every single masterpiece still echoes absolute silence and patience in the company of which the experts at Mont blanc carry out hundreds of steps to fabricate the perfect nib for you.

Hand-crafted in European tradition, the two toned 14K gold nib with rhodium or platinum inlay graces the Montblanc fountain pens such as Montblanc Meisterstuck 149, Montblanc Meisterstuck Platinum Line Le Grand Fountain Pen, Montblanc Meisterstuck Solitaire Stainless Steel Fountain Pen, and the list of equally lavish fine writing instruments can go on without any hustle.

But I will have to take a break to acknowledge the twist-action fluent Ballpoint Pens - Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique Soltaire Royal Ballpoint Pen(also available in Black and Gold and Black and Platinum) being the most sought after; fluid Rollerball Pens, most of which is convertible to fine liners such as MontBlanc Meisterstück LeGrand Rollerball, Gold or Platinum and the Mechanical pencils that come in various sizes as per your need. Pick from either Gold or Platinum Meisterstuck Classique Mechanical Pencils that are available in 0.5mm and 0.7mm. If you are willing to purchase a bolder one, Montblanc Meisterstuck LeGrand Mechanical Pencil - 0.9 mm can fulfill your requisite.
And oh yes, the modern series includes even a highlighter pen, Montblanc Meisterstuck Legrand Document Marker Gold Trims, makes sure you don’t miss out anything important.

The Impression

Though it appears as a regular fountain pen, the minimalist design hides under it the epitome of luxury.
Montblanc Meisterstuck, The Epitome of Luxury
Montblanc Meisterstuck: The Epitome of Luxury
In the recent times, Mont blanc has emerged as a lifestyle brand and it has developed as a nobility to own a timelessly substantial accessory like Meisterstück. The barrel exudes history and value through the deep black precious resins or the Solitaire- platinum and steel plating. This series of luxury pens embraces a simple platinum-plated or gold clip with a carved individual serial number. The splendor is doubled by the precious metal plated rings on the cap and barrel, and also the trim where a broader middle band catches the eye with an engraving of “Montblanc Meisterstück Pen” the highly valued Mont blanc brand name. The top of the cap is rounded imitating the bottom and stands out because of the distinctive white star emblem surmounted by a dome of transparent resin. This emblem represents the snow capped peak of the Montblanc Mountain.

The Filling Mechanism

Based on the operation technique, the Meisterstück series of Fountain Pens can be categorized on the basis of their filling system. Montblanc Meisterstuck Legrand Fountain pens which are modern and bigger version to the Classique series, are Piston Fill Fountain pens; except for the Meisterstuck Legrand Traveler Fountain Pen with gold trims that constitutes of a gold plated cartridge filling system. The Montblanc Meisterstuck 149

Mont blanc Meisterstuck 149
Mont blanc Meisterstuck 149
While talking about masterpieces, one could hardly overlook Montblanc Meisterstuck 149, an iconic pen that has been topping the charts, literally on search engines and blog reviews of the fine writing instruments in this category. The pen boasts of a hand crafted Au 750/ 18K gold nib with rhodium plated inlay, combination of which is flawless against precious Black resin or the Solitaire Platinum, regulars or special Diplomat Version. The other remarkable aspect is it’s presentation; it comes in a luxurious box including Mont blanc Ink as an additional gift. How thoughtful!
Just a matter of fact, the number 149 is not random as it might sound. The numerical 1 indicates that the pen is a strain of Meisterstuck. 4 stands for telescope piston mechanism and 9 denotes the size of the nib that goes down to the smallest size no.1. You might opt for a less substantial but equally estimable Montblanc Meisterstück 146 that constitutes a medium sized nib which is 18K with platinum inlay and of course, hand crafted

Monumental Mozart

Meisterstuck Hommage à Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Montblanc soars the heights of luxury and recognition but keeping itself planted to its roots, the brand pays a tribute to a prolific composer of classical era through the series of supreme writing instruments called "Hommage à Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart." The Meisterstück Mozart Jewelry Collection, consisting of three exclusive models - platinum plate, an engraved white lacquer pen with 18 karat rose gold, and a champagne-colored gold pen decorated with diamonds are the ultimate examples of femininity and extravagance. With time, their discreetly unassuming versions were launched that were an instant hit and they still are much admired and much acquired. Montblanc Meisterstuck Hommage WA Mozart is available in both Black and Gold and Black and Platinum - Fountain Pens, Ballpoints, Rollerballs and Mechanical Pencils.

Tribute to the Mont Blanc

This collection is another fascinating reverence reinterpreting the legendary brand of Montblanc. By the help of half a dozen adherent snow peaks – the polished snow quartz emblem on the cap of the pure and precious white lacquer cap and barrel dedicates itself to the symbolic mountain, Mont Blanc. The Montblanc Meisterstuck tribute to Montblanc Pen is significant with Gold trims or Platinum trims or the Solitaire Line. It constitutes of a rhodium-plated 18K gold nib however, the Mozart Tribute encompasses the 18K rose gold nib. Each collection is completed with a matching Rollerball and Ballpoint Pen. Every piece of this collection shines with the “Tribute to the Mont Blanc” signet.

Lastly, to add something more to my own enchanting experience with the fascinating series of Meisterstuck, I went through an adequate amount of Google searches if I could find anything rudimentary that can explain in simple words, how Meisterstuck strikes a chord in us. I wanted some answers to how it embodies our precious moments and puts together quite a few words that make stories to tell and I found this on mymeisterstueck.montblanc.com written by an eternal lover of writing, who calls herself Haidji
My new book: I write by hand, my books, stories, notes, wherever I am, no matter when I just write on…notebooks, napkins, over news papers - with the pen I have at the moment. As I started to write my new book; one day, my boyfriend gave me a present. It was the Meisterstuck, I was so happy like only a writer can be, finding the right pen…to write with. Since then, I still write wherever I am, when inspiration catches me because writing is like breathing. I wrote my new book all with Meisterstuck, did this make my book a masterpiece too? ;)
I am now, writing my next book…and I write all my notes with the Meisterstuck, of course.

Best Writing Pens 2013

Best Writing Pens 2013

Best Writing Pens 2013
Best Writing Pens 2013

In less than two weeks from now the curtain will fall on what has been, if not an easy, then certainly a sensational, year for mankind. While this year has been plagued with more than its fair share of military conflicts, international incidents and heartbreaking circumstances, it is always important to remember the wonderful, beautiful, and truly surprising things that have come about amidst all the insanity. This year alone, American scientists managed to create a lab-grown ear using a 3-D printer, the world gained “two popes” with the resignation of Benedict XVI and the ascension of Francis I, the English line of succession became secure with the birth of Prince George of Cambridge, and China’s Jade Rabbit robotic rover became the first spacecraft to soft land on the moon since 1976.

While it is admittedly not the most shocking of years, 2013 has certainly been no pushover when it comes to lists of accomplishments, and the Pen Boutique would like to end it with a list of our own. We’ve compiled (in no particular order) what we believe to be some of the finest and in demand pens of 2013. So enjoy this tour of this year’s crème de la crème, and keep in mind that while Christmas is only a few days away, it’s still not quite here yet, and personally, I believe this list boasts more than one nice little stocking stuffer.

First at bat in the countdown is one of the fiercest and finest pens of the season:

           Namiki Falcon

Namiki Falcon
Namiki Falcon
The piece’s jet black barrel possesses a silky, smooth texture akin to the feeling of a falcon’s feathers. Its bold, dark look is elegantly accented with shined, gold trimmings, a gold clip and the Falcon’s crowning feature: a flexible, “hooded” 14k gold nib. The nib’s versatility provides a soft, flexible writing feel that that can create smooth, crisp, sweeping, or thin lines depending upon the writing style of each individual user. In keeping with its natural adaptability, the piece is also able to utilize not only Namiki cartridges but Namiki twist type converters. As the recipient of multiple awards and high acclaims from writing forum, the Namiki Falcon is the pen of choice for all writers and business professionals.

      Montblanc Meisterstuck

For generations, the Montblanc Pen Company has been known as a forerunner in the making of sophisticated, high quality writing instruments. Since the new millennium, the company has managed to become a world renowned purveyor of exclusive, luxury products. The peak of their accomplishments, however, undoubtedly lies in their famed Meisterstück Collection. This particular series boasts a wide assortment of pens of varying colors, accents, finishings and bands that, while distinctly unique unto themselves, still bear the tell-tale traits that mark them as a Meisterstück: a masterpiece. Those in the Meisterstück Collection bear slender, sturdy bodies made out of precious, jet black resin. These sleek midnight shades are complemented by either gold, silver or platinum trimmings.  Following its genesis, this striking product line has been the inspiration for hundreds of pen designs not only for the Montblanc Company itself, but for its competitors as well. As such, its revolutionary style has earned the Meisterstück Collection a reputation as one of the greatest writing instruments of the century.

Montegrappa Fortuna Skull

Montegrappa Fortuna Skull
Montegrappa Fortuna Skull
To the ancient Romans, the immortal, cosmic personification of luck was embodied by the veiled goddess Fortuna. A representation of blind justice and the capriciousness of life, Fortuna’s affiliation with chance events have always been closely tied with virtue and strength of character. This ancient goddess, however, doles out bad luck with just as much fervency, as she does good luck, and it’s this darker side that has inspired Montegrappa’s Fortuna Skull Rollerball pen. The body of this piece is made of a smoky, black resin with fitted gunmetal grey accents. Alternating rows of skulls decorate the pen’s sleek barrel and a solitary, enchanting skull with Swarovski crystals as its teeth grace the top of the cap. The cap’s bottom bears a central band with an engraving of Montegrappa’s name while the cap’s dark silver clip boasts a rotating metal wheel.

Edison Pens

Edison Pens
Edison Pens
The Edison Pen Company was founded by the Grays: a husband and wife team located in Milan, Ohio. Their pens are created with the utmost care and precision to ensure the highest quality product. In fact, the company itself has no standard, mass produced stock of pens waiting to be sold, nor does it even have an online store. All pens purchased directly from the company are custom made to the buyer’s specifications, down to the make, model and materials used. Despite their individuality, each of these home grown treasures writes with a buttery smooth ink flow that makes writing a pleasure. Made with all the love, dedication and care reminiscent of master artisans, this two-person team has dedicated themselves to making some of the finest, most distinct pens on the market.

Monteverde One Touch Stylus

Monteverde One Touch Stylus
Monteverde One Touch Stylus
In today’s fast paced world, having the right tools at hand has become a crucial aspect of survival that borders on necessity. In response, Monteverde has created the OneTouch Stylus Fountain Pen, bringing together nine distinct tools into one premium quality instrument. The heavy, six-sided barrel houses a smooth, fountain pen tip made of German Iridium on one end and an ultra-sensitive touch screen stylus at the other. The barrel itself is made of enameled brass and is comprised of 3 different scale functions. Underneath the stylus lies a Phillips flathead screw driver. A chiseled, chrome-plated spring clip is the finishing touch to this high-functioning piece that, no matter the time, place or situation, is more than ready to handle more jobs than any other pen on the market.

Montblanc Starwalker Carbon

Montblanc Starwalker Carbon

With its beautiful craftsmanship, mystic design and undeniable charm, the Starwalker Carbon Medium Point Fountain Pen is one of Montblanc’s most beautiful designs to date. The body is wrapped in Montblanc’s signature precious black resin and features a daintily woven anthracite carbon fibre decoration. Platinum-plated furnishings are artfully complemented by the beautiful, crystal cap with a floating Montblanc snowflake in its center. The platinum-plated clip is embossed with Montblanc’s brand name and the pen’s individual serial number. The crystalline, monochrome-theme of the piece is brought together by the final accessory: a hand-crafted, 14k gold, rhodium-plated nib that adds the final glimmer to this truly remarkable piece.

Faber Castell Ondoro Wood

Faber Castell Ondoro Wood
Faber Castell Ondoro Wood
The Ondoro Wood Fountain pen’s simplistic name and appearance belies the lovely uniqueness of this truly remarkable piece. The Ondoro is one of the first models of Faber-Castell’s new product line. Its barrel is made of a deep, earthy, smoked oak wood that is perfectly smooth to the touch. The wide, six-sided barrel is topped with a cap made of polished, chrome-plated metal accented by a spring-loaded metal clip. The Ondoro’s nib is made of high quality stainless steel that allows the ink to flow and flourish in smooth, crisp lines as the nib glides across a the paper. With a design that is no less elegant for its minimalism, the Ondoro is a product that will add a heavy dose of refinement to anyone’s stationery repertoire.

Waterman Carene

The Waterman Pen Company was established in 1884 in New York City by Lewis Edson Waterman and remains one of the only surviving first-generation fountain pen companies in the world. Ever since its creation, Waterman has worked to combine innovation, design and excellence in all its products. With unrivalled levels of quality and imagination, the grace and distinctiveness of Waterman collections has secured it a place at the heart of elegance and luxury. One of the most renowned and simplistically beautiful of its many collections is the Waterman Carene, known for its timeless, classical style. From the vibrant fountain pens of royal blue with silver accents to ballpoint pens with the muted sophistication of midnight black and gold trimmings, the Carene collection hosts a variety of pieces graced with subtlety and coated in luminous finishes that make them the perfect addition to any pen collection.

With that, we present to you the final list of this year! The last call, the final countdown, the coup de grâce, etc., etc. It’s all coming to a close, and Pen Boutique backs each and every one of these pristine products with the full confidence that each one is perfect in its own right. Whether you’re just starting your collection, need just one special companion, or are adding one more trimming to your carefully cultivated collection, any one of these pieces would be a priceless addition to your stationery family. Black friday and Pen Boutique

Originally, Black Friday had nothing to do with shopping. Nothing at all. In fact, the very first records of the name refer to the US financial crisis in 1869 which had to do with the New York Gold Exchange. It was not until 1966 that Philadelphia’s Police Department gave it to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day due to the increase in traffic jams, over-crowded sidewalks and stores being mobbed from opening to closing. I don’t believe anything has ever been so aptly named as the day that brings an almost overbearing feeling of foreboding and obligation to each and every American.
Year after year you tell yourself “I’m going to get there early!” “I’ll just go to a store way out the way; that way there’ll be less competition.” “Midnight Madness here I come! Now where’s my space heater, lawn chair and Ramen Noodles…” And then you’re in Wal-Mart at 2:00 AM, barreling down the aisles with your shopping cart fighting off old ladies and trying not to get trampled as you sprint to the back of the store for the last copy of Battlefield 3. Or, you’re in the middle of Macy*s about to actually fight a woman for the last pair of Timberland Hiking Boots.
I’m not going to tell you that everything’s going to be alright, but I will tell you that Pen Boutique can make your holiday shopping a little easier. You deserve to take a breather this year. Instead of sitting in front of Wal-Mart for ten hours and running the risk of being trampled, stay home and participate in Cyber Black Friday. Who cares about the means of purchase; an elegant, cleverly-constructed pen is a subtle but powerful statement when given as a gift; whether you fought the crowds at the mall or enjoyed yourself in front of the computer with a cup of joe. Arguably the greatest tool ever created, it allows one to communicate with the world in as many different ways as your mind can devise. It’s practical, useful, and just because it has a function doesn’t mean it can’t look sleek in the process. No, we don’t have the latest videogame for Modern Warfare, but we have gifts that are three times more valuable and eight times more economical.
To begin, let’s start off with a pen that breaks all barriers when it comes to affordability and convenience. The Parker Insignia Matt Black Chrome completely redefines luxury. Its smooth, comfortable texture is enveloped with a beautiful black matt coloring. Beautiful 14k Gold plated, champagne-colored trims finish off the look and leave the pen with an almost tangible air of prestige and excellence. For something a little less dramatic but no less edgy, Pelikan presents the newest member of their Epoch series. Modern style and excellent craftsmanship are effectively combined in the Epoch 360 to create a truly stunning product. It features a wide, comfortable barrel and cap with satin-matte finishes. The steel nib is semi-firm and plated with bright palladium for a smooth, non-skip ink flow. Though very chic, executive style does not always have to be so monochrome. Waterman invites you to try their Hemisphere Comet Red Rollerball. Much more festive than its aforementioned counterparts, the Comet is made of an innovative micro-particle lacquer finish that captures the light. The smooth polish highlights the barrel’s deep vibrant red that is set off with contemporary chrome trims.
The deals don’t stop there, however. Representing a more modern approach, Pen Boutique offers the Fisher Space Bullet Pen. Its brass body is plated with bright chrome finishes that are smooth to the touch. When it’s slide-on cap is closed, the Bullet Pen is a perfect fit to carry in your wallet, pocket, backpack, purse, car glove and just about anywhere else you can think of. Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has been exhibited for years in the New York Museum of Modern Art. (How’s that for bragging rights? Hey, my pen is featured in an art gallery.) Cross is also a contender in this cyber sale with their Townsend 18k Gold ballpoint pen. The ultimate expression of pen-making design, this ballpoint embodies classic American elegance and finesse. Inspired by the graceful lines of 1930’s Art Deco design, with distinctive finishes, precious metals and the signature double band, Townsend delivers a lifetime of smooth, effortless writing. Last, but most certainly not least, arrives the Montblanc Meisterstück Classique Rollerball. It is a widely known secret that Montblanc pens are among the finest writing instruments in the world. The Classique’s barrel and cap are made out of precious jet-black resin that is shined to a high gloss. The top of the cap and the three gold-plated rings around the barrel are embossed with the legendary Montblanc symbol.
Oh, and did I forget? Pen Boutique’s special Black Friday coupon gives you $20 dollars off any purchase of $100 dollars or more(BLACKFRIDAY2511). (That’s, like, a discount on top of a discount!) I’m not going to lie to you; it’ll be tough out there. Rambo’s got nothing on the survival skills you’ll need when you face those stores on Friday. So I suggest that you don’t. Just, don’t. Stay home, relax, and let your fingers do the shopping for you. The Pen Boutique website is open 24/7, and all these deals – including many, many more – last all day long.
